Give me Jesus

"Give Me Jesus" Fernando Ortega

I love this song. Love it. Sometimes I just need to listen to it. I like that it's repetitive without being boring. It speaks to the repetition in my life. Get up, take care of kids, do dishes, do laundry, go to bed, start all over again. It's not easy to give of yourself every day. Being a mother forces you into it. And all you hear from the world is "Do what makes YOU happy! Travel! Get a career! You need to focus on YOU!" And it's very easy to feel sorry for yourself. "I'm stuck at home ALL the time. I can't do what I want to do. Laundry, dishes, diapers...it's all so pointless." Well this song takes care of that. When I rise? Just give me Jesus. When I'm wiping noses? Just give me Jesus. When I'm doing the fifth load of laundry today? Just give me Jesus. Only Jesus. He sees my loneliness and says "I am here." He sees my weariness and says "I'll give you strength." He sees my frustration and says, "Everything you do for me matters." You can have all this world--but give me Jesus.
